Evangelical Lutheran Church of Cameroon (Eglise évangélique luthérienne du Caméroun) 1967-1987.

The records are divided into correspondence, institutions, minutes, and subject files. The correspondence is separated by office and year. The correspondents include Presidents Joseph Medoukan and Paul Darman, Vice President Paul Darman, and Secretary Bjorn Bue. The institutions include medical and educational work as well as a radio station. The minutes include a small amount of general synod minutes as well as minutes of the Medical and Dental Council of the ELCC and the Liaison Committee and Sub-Liaison Committee. The latter two committees consisted of both churchmen and missionaries and governed the way the two groups worked together. Subject files include church statistics and information on specific projects. The records were collected primarily by Lowell Hesterman and James L. Knutson. Both served as area secretary for Africa and Madagascar, Hesterman from [1964]-1973 and Knutson from 1973-1987.

The American Lutheran Church (1961-1987) was formed by the merger of the American Lutheran Church (1930-1960), the Evangelical Lutheran Church and the United Evangelical Lutheran Church. Representatives from each of the constitutent churches formed the Joint Union Committee in 1950 to effect the merger. Presidents of the constituent bodies at the merger were Henry F.
